Velassaru has everything you'd expect from The Maldives, soft white sand, crystal-clear seas and a picture-perfect beautiful lagoon complete with stunning sunset views.

There is a range of chic, well-appointed private hideaways dotted along the shoreline. The original accommodation is the Bungalows, and there are also Beach Villas and Water Villas which are more recently built. The Water Suite is extra special, offering the ultimate in privacy with your own sundeck, infinity pool and steps in to the lagoon.

There is a central infinity pool by the bar with a great view over the lagoon, and a good variety of water sports options including a PADI Dive Centre. There are five dining venues each with their own specialism including the main buffet restaurant, the Mediterranean and Japanese Teppanyaki over-water restaurant, oceanfront Grill, a cafe bar, beach bar and dining options on the sundeck. The Indulgence Plan is an upgrade worth considering as it allows complete dining flexibility and includes drinks.

Though children are welcome, there is no kids club here. This naturally leads to Velassaru being a more adult oriented island.

Top Tip
For short stays, let us pre-book your restaurants. Sand restaurant has beautiful private tables on the jetty but these get booked up particularly in peak season
